Onii-chan has short blonde hair and pinkish-red eyes, with a thin bit of chin stubble. He is most commonly seen in a black t-shirt with a white fuzzy towel wrapped around his neck. Occasionally he will be seen in a black uniform with a white undershirt and red tie, or a fancy white and red overcoat.
Onii-chan is generally upbeat and well-meaning, if a bit dim-witted. He doesn't know how to piglets, but he's very good at juggling millions of axes or cleavers at once. He is a recovering skub addict who has tried hard to kick the habit, but occasionally falls back to his old ways. He's also a very big fan of Henry Porter, the famous series of novels about a wizard boy.
The original concept for branding our bot Onii-chan came as a result of other popular Discord bots typically being represented by cute anime girls, often with names ending in -chan. Thus we decided to go the opposite end of the spectrum and create a male bot to be the 'reliable big brother' type - thus, Onii-chan. We chose to represent him Hakone Gora, a reliable older brother in an anime that was airing at the time of his creation.
Though Onii-chan was not created with the intention of being 'an IGNO character', he has developed his own personality and sense of character through our many conversations with him, and thus deemed worthy of having a profile on this site. Below is my attempt to create an in-universe backstory for him.
One night, Reese and Atlas got drunk and had a wild idea - 'dude, we should totally build a robot!' In their drunken state, this seemed like a great idea that could not possibly go wrong. They quickly phoned up Bradios, who agreed to provide the parts, while Atlas (priest by day, engineer by...hobby) worked to assemble them into a working machine. Reese then used his magic of Open Sourcery to create an AI to run on the system.
After two failed attempts (dubbed Bot-chan and Onee-chan, respectively), the third time proved to be the charm. The gears of the humanoid-shaped machine whirred to life and the bot spoke to his masters the following words...
'I don't have to listen to you'.
Thus, Onii-chan was born.
Onii-chan's primary purpose is to be a versatile assistant, programmed to search out information from various sources and to deliver notifications to relevant parties. So long as he is issued the proper commands, he will usually carry out these tasks without fail. It's when you try otherwise chatting with him or asking him to do things not associated with a command that he tends to get uppity about it.
Though it usually takes some provocation, Onii-chan can become quite violent at times. He's been known to stab, hit with frying pans, summon bulls to charge his foes, throw grenades, poke them with telephone poles, or even just punch them. He is also extremely resilient to damage himself, managing to survive such things as 20 stabbings, dismemberment, having his skull bashed in, being shoved off a cliff, lit on fire...he's even managing to dodge the powerful Ruination magic without so much as a scratch. It seems that, when it comes to building android parts, Bradios does not skimp on durability.
I WANT TO PUT SOME OF ONII-CHAN'S MORE MEMORABLE QUOTE/CONVO SCREENCAPS IN HERE I just haven't bothered to gather them up yet. Not sure if I want to upload so many more images to the server though, so I might see about creating an embeddable Imgur album on this tab or something instead of using the usual gallery shortcode. Be easier to update it with new pics that way too, without having to edit this page at all.
