After high school graduation, a lot of the older members moved on with their lives, and the forum began to fade into inactivity. It wasn't until SG2's second year in college when she began spending more time in the campus lobby that she started to make some new friends...and one by one, many of those friends began to join IGNO and see what it was all about. The result was a huge boom in activity in the fall of 2007, with new members and a lot of new activity, which is why this particular year is often considered as having spawned some of the most memorable topics.
The seeds of our roleplaying aspects began to be planted at this time, as well, with topics like IGNO THE FIGHTING GAME taking a simple discussion topic and building the rough concepts of our canon characters. Many core elements of our canon came into being at this time as well - such as The Rainbow - even if they were modified and tweaked to suit later-developed canon. But perhaps the biggest difference between 2007 IGNO compared to the previous two years was the new habit of 'spreeing' - the act of a single user responding to a large number of active topics within a short amount of time (IE, going on a 'posting spree'). The amount of activity generated from having, on average, 4-5 active users spreeing on the board at a single time, multiple times a day, was enormous for what had always been such a small community. The result of this style of posting formed in 2007 could best be described as 'structured chaos'.
Due to all of the aforementioned factors coming together, 2007 is notorious for having some of the most memorable transcripts in IGNO history. This is not to say that they are 'the best', and that our content has gone downhill in the years since. Rather, the fluid, almost realtime chat-like flow of the topics makes them very dynamic to read, and the fact that many iconic memes and aspects that would go on to influence canon are so prevalent here makes them particularly unforgettable. That said, the 2007 transcripts are not without their cringe-worthy moments - much like 2006, many of them are filled with an abundance of out-of-place anime and TV references, animated emoticons, and dated slang. Still, this period is regarded fondly because it so strongly represents the spirit of what has always made IGNO so great - a bunch of friends just going all out and having fun spewing nonsense that would eventually (usually inadvertently) lead to canon concepts and developments.
