Cross' appearance is the antithesis of his brother, Santa Claus. Santa wears a red suit - Cross wears green. Santa's beard is long and white - Cross' is short, dark, and rather unkempt. Santa's face is jolly and rosy-cheeked, while Cross' is thin and sunken. It is believe that he deliberately presents himself as the opposite of his brother.
Cross speaks in an eloquent and polite tone, but his mind is deeply warped from the thousands of years he'd spent trapped in the Christmas Dimension. After breaking free and stealing the role of Santa Claus from his brother, Cross is nothing short of evil, driven entirely by his goals.

Prior to the incident that left him trapped in the Christmas Dimension, Cross was a fine and upstanding young man fit to be his father's successor as the next in line to be Santa Claus. What happened to change him, you ask? It's a long tale...

So, I may have kinda sorta contradicted some of my own backstory for Santa and Cross between the time of writing A Crossmas Carol (2012) and Rockin' Around The Christmas Treason (2016). I'm aware of this and the need to go back into the former to make a few adjustments, all while not messing up the ultimate plot and resolution of that story. Consider this my planned project for Christmas 2017. For the time being I'm leaving this section empty so I have one less thing to come back and correct. Consider RAtCT's telling of events canon.
After assuming the role of Santa Claus, Cross was able to access the Christmas Magic much like his brother, unleashing it in red-green energy blasts.

Upon taking The Artifact into his body, Cross grew to enormous size much like Krampus had always been known to, without sacrificing his speed or intellect in the process.
