About Humans

As it is impossible to go anywhere in this world without encountering a human, I will assume that you, dear reader, are already largely familiar with this category of races. Humans - along with Beasts and Beastmen - make up the majority of the planet's race population, and IGNOLand is no exception.

While Humans may be seen as a fairly 'vanilla' group without some of the outstanding characteristics or special abilities found among other types of races, the fact that humans are so prevalent in this world says much for their ability to adapt to nearly anything nature throws at them. Their versatility and ingenuity, as well as their remarkable tendency to accomplish most anything they set their minds to, has allowed them to flourish on this planet for millions of years.

Compared to the other racial types, Humans are largely considered to be 'average'. There are few areas in which they excel above other types, but often have fewer weaknesses and deficiencies. They are often seen as the jack-of-all-trades among the other types of races, capable of living almost anywhere and doing almost anything.

One thing that's particularly notable about Humans is how much less pronounced the differences between their races tend to be compared to most types. Traits such as skin or hair coloration, slight disparity of height and other bodily proportions, and occasionally things like diet or being suited to particular climates are generally the only things separating them from other Human races. Thus, while Human is a category of races and not a race in and of itself, most do tend to regard themselves as simply 'human' (note that the lowercase initial is preferred by them in colloquial speech) rather than as the more specific race of Human they may belong to. In fact, Human society has blended and intermingled so much that a majority of Humans don't even know what actual race they belong to, and racial prejudice among their kind is practically unheard of.
