Captain Chichen

The chichens shall inherit the earth!!Captain Chichen

Captain Chichen has long brown hair with two tresses hanging down in front of his face. He has a short goatee and stubble around his chin. He wears a blue military uniform, his cap fitted with two wing-like pins in honor of the chichens, and a small chichen caricature on the front.

Perhaps most notable, his outfit lacks pants.

Captain Chichen is an eccentric man whose tendencies few understand. He is a hero, a paragon of virtue and honor. At least he was, once upon a time, before he lost his mind. He is a cloud cuckoolander to such high degree that he was only able to find true solace literally in the clouds...among the cuckoos.

A vagabond, Captain Chichen walks the Earth with a single mission in mind, to reclaim the legacy that rightfully belongs to him... his pants. Equipped only with his charming wit, dashing good looks, and a very sharp, pointy object, Captain Chichen continues to wander the world to parts unknown on his quest for public decency.

A relic of the distant past, Captain Chichen was once an explorer of some kind. Perhaps a pirate, perhaps a military man, few can say, though he insists his rank of Captain is legitimate. The story goes that on one such expedition, Captain Chichen discovered the lost floating continent of Chichanda that had only been told of in folklore and legend. There he was given the gift of immortality from the mystical Chichens, leaving him forever frozen in the appearance of a man in his mid-20's. He remained in Chichanda for centuries, living among the sapient birds and becoming inducted into their society as an honorary chichen himself. Not even he remembers his true name, having communicated solely with the birds for so long that it took him some time to even recall the language.

However, others say he was born there. A mysterious boy, half-man half-bird, was taken in by the chichens and raised as one of their own, even learning to fly with his Wind element. Captain Chichen himself claims both tales to be true.

Whatever the case, in a drunken haze one night he went on a stroll and stepped right off the edge…crash landing himself in IGNOLand where he got to know the people, and tigers, who lived there. Though he stayed, for a time, Captain Chichen had been away from modern society for too long. Baffled by human interaction and as pantless as ever, he bid his friends goodbye and continued on his journey. And so his legend remains shrouded in mystery, for now...

This character predates IGNOLand's current canon. Below are some facts known about them written from an OOC perspective.

IRL, Captain Chichen - or Nick - was the originator of the concept for the lost floating continent of Chichanda, and the race of magnificent birds who lived there. When he left the community, Chichanda was thrown into the 'scrapped' pile with other abandoned characters and concepts...until XEN arrived. It just so happened that Chichanda fit the idea of the character he'd wished to create, and thus it was dragged back into the light of day and given a modest makeover to fit the current canon of IGNOLand.

As Captain Chichen's story now holds weight once more, and is an interesting concept in general (an oldschool adventurer/explorer who discovered Chichanda, gaining eternal youth but going mad and losing his humanity through centuries of living among the birds), I would consider his character design and concept up for adoption to anyone who may be interested.

Captain Chichen wields a cutlass, lending credence to the theories that he was once a seafaring man. He has complete control over the Wind element honed from the centuries he spent living among the chichens in the clouds, and can fly with great proficiency despite not having wings.
