The Wayward Woods is a massive forest in eastern IGNOLand, home to many individual nations - all of which are inhabited by Old-World Races. The forest itself has existed since time immemorial, and is thought to have once covered at least half of the supercontinent before the Great Cataclysm and the advancement of civilization pushed back its boundaries. Nonetheless, the forest's high concentration of magical energy has protected and kept it thriving for millennia, and it considered the most magical region of the entire world.
Its name comes from the fact that all outsiders who enter the forest tend to become inexorably lost, wandering aimlessly until they either collapse from exhaustion, starvation, or are overtaken by one of the many hostile creatures who roam within. Only those with a strong magical sense - or incredible dumb luck - can hope to make it through the forest alive.
